Twin Must Haves?

I am reaching out to all the MoMs (Mothers of Multiples) and Moms out there. What are the must have products we will need? I was pretty confident when getting ready for Sophia, but it has been 3 years and things have changed.... like getting ready for 2 babies.

Do you have any must haves that I need to know about? I am planning on getting Baby Bargains... but you know how it is... word from your girlfriends goes that much further. Thanks!

  1. Ooh, I love this question. But it will probably take me like three tries to get everything. So expect to hear from me a few times. First off, if you have friends offering to help, have someone set you up on takethemameal.com and everyone can sign up for a time to bring dinner over. If you don't have family coming to stay with you after you bring the babies home, you will be glad to not have to worry about dinner for a few weeks.
A couple different types of binkies, some babies have strong preferences for one style over another. Swaddles. Footie sleep-and-plays with ZIPPERS, not snaps. Snapping tiny snaps is the last thing on earth you will want to do at 4 am. I had a Moses Basket that allowed me to carry the girls all over the house with me without having to disturb them when they were tiny. A video monitor. (I know they are spendy, but just get it over with. If you don't get it now you will want one when they are toddlers anyway. We have a Summer touchscreen.) Something with white noise. A sling so you can wear one and still have hands. (Mine is from Mod Mum.) An asparagus cooker to warm bottles on the stove. I know it sounds crazy but we tried about 15 things and this was the best.
Are you planning on nursing them? That's another list entirely. I wish you lived by me, so help me I would back the truck up to your front door and bestow upon you piles of stuff. Are you finding out genders?

  2. And a crockpot! And a crockpot recipe book! There is nothing like throwing stuff in there in the morning and having actual dinner at night. Voila!

  3. Also! (Tell me to shut up any time now.) TWO baby books, already my girls are happy that they each have their own. And if you are handy at Excel, make a spreadsheet for each baby with room to write how long/from what side they ate (or oz. of formula), if they had a wet/dirty diaper, if you gave them meds, and when you took YOUR meds (if you are recovering from a c section). When you are so tired and recovering and other people are helping it is EASY to lose track of who did what. A spreadsheet is an easy way for everyone to know at a glance what is going on with the kiddos. Especially if you are a control freak like me. :o)
